If you are still looking for some high flying adventures after tackling the Sydney Bridge Climb, look no further than the Sydney Tower Skywalk.
The Sydney Tower is 268 meters or 880 feet up. That’s roughly the same height as the Eiffel Tower in Paris and nearly twice as high as the Harbour Bridge. The views from Bondi all the way to the Blue Mountains are stunning.
My sister and I did the Skywalk a few years ago and had a blast.
When we arrived, we had to pass a breath test before being able to take part in the tour. Then, the folks at the Skywalk fitted us out with our Skysuits and acquainted with all our safety gear. Each person is fitted with a harness which tethers to the Tower. The safety demonstrations are very thorough, and both my sister and I felt totally safe up there.
Once we were outside, the guide took us for a walk around the tower and provided a bit of history about the city. The coolest part is a platform with a glass floor. You can look straight down between your feet and see what is happening on the road 880 ft (268 m) below. Or, look the horizon and soak in the breathtaking views in front of you.
The entire Skywalk tour takes about an hour. It is an enjoyable stroll around the tower, and I would not classify this tour as strenuous.
The tour costs $65 for adults and $45 for children 10 and older. This price also includes the other Sydney Tower attractions including the Observation Deck and the Oz Trek virtual reality ride across Australia.
Overall, my sister and I enjoyed the Skywalk. However, it was a relatively mild experience with the only adrenalin rush coming for the sheer height of the tower.
