51 hour journey
Yes, our usual 28 hour trip from Sydney to Baton Rouge took a whopping 51 hours this time around. We got delayed in LA due to a canceled flight. After watching 3 other planes take off without our names being called from the standby list, the girls and I cut our losses and checked in to a hotel to get some much needed sleep. There were some meltdowns from seriously overtired little girls and tears from a seriously overtired mama, but we finally made it to Baton Rouge on Thursday evening.
So happy to finally be here! And, my mom has been spoiling all of us since we arrived which isn’t too bad either.

Oh you poor thing. I’ve done an 18 our flight with a 7 and a 2 year old but your’s was a killer. Man, you deserve lots of martinis now. Looking forward to picks from Baton Rouge for those us who haven’t been there. Hope you keep your touristy Tuesdays up!!

BTW, while I was at orientation, I left my parents at the Mall of Louisiana. They were impressed. The mall solidified a thought that I don’t dare voice in NOLA: BATON Rouge will be the NO. 1 city in Louisiana very, very soon!
