Champagne, Anyone?

by A Cajun Down Under on August 15, 2010

Today, I hosted a Bridal Shower for my Sister In Law to be.   The Aussie’s brother will be marrying his lady love later this year, so I decided to get all the girls over to celebrate.  It was good fun, and I think the bride really enjoyed herself.  And, she racked up some really great gifts as well.

Always on the lookout to do something just a little bit different, The Aussie brought me home some Wild Hibiscus Flowers from the Castle Hill markets yesterday.

These beautiful flowers are completely edible and look beautiful in a glass of Champagne.  They were a big hit a the bridal shower.  And, the syrup from the flowers added a nice flavor to the champagne.

For an interesting twist at your next party, give these flowers a try.  Your guests will be delighted.  And, it is always fun to see who is the first to actually eat the flower.

I love champagne and never knew how to use those flowers before. I’ve seen them in those jars at lots of markets. Great tip.

Tracey, treat yourself to some of these next time you see them at the markets. Lots of fun, and tastes pretty good too.
