One of the absolute best things to come out of Australia are Tim Tam’s.
Tim Tams are a chocolate biscuit (cookie). 2 chocolate wafers sandwiching a chocolate cream. Then the whole thing is dipped in even more chocolate to coat the outside.
Did I mention the chocolate?
Oops! Temptation got the better of me…
For all of you who have had the pleasure of eating a Tim Tam, I suspect you are already salivating at the thought of it. They are truly a glorious chocolate experience not to be missed.
Tim Tams also come in many flavors — dark choc0late, white chocolate, chewy caramel, sweet surrender choc hazelnut, double coat for extra chocolate goodness (The Aussie’s favorite), and many, many more.
I picked up all the Tim Tam’s photographed in this post at my local supermarket. And while I could force myself to eat all 6 packets, I thought it would be much more fun to share.
So, I’m giving away 2 boxes of Tim Tam’s to each of 2 lucky readers. To enter, just leave a comment below answering the following question.
“What is your favorite dessert?”
Is Creme Brulee your first love?
Are you considering naming your first born chocolate brownie sundae?
Or, does your mom’s fresh baked apple pie make you smile?
The Rules:
Contest closes at midnight AEST on Friday June 11.
Winners will be chosen at random and all decisions are final.

I am a big fan of “mom’s apple pie”
PW’s Apple Dumplings!
Sticky Date Pudding with warm Butterscotch sauce and a scoop of Blue Ribbon vanilla ice-cream on the side!! Giddy Up!
Banana Split…With cream, cherries and chocolate.
Baileys Irish Cream
Sticky Date Pudding with warm Butterscotch sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on the side!!
I guess voting for TIM-TAMS would be a little obvious,
so I’ll go with warm Pecan Pie (with the minced pecans scraped off the top…sorta like “chicken and dumplin’s minus the CHICKEN!!”) topped with Blue Bell TRIPLE CARAMEL ice cream….
or……….
the late lamented THRIPLE THREAT CHOCOLATE ice cream with an entire jar of Elmer’s Gold Brick ice cream topping (you heat it in the microwave then pour over the ice cream where it becomes a thick, chewy shell..NOT a hard brittle one!!) and a Gold Brick Easter egg stuck in the middle!!!
but, I am not wanting to have a THIRD favorite:
“Sticky Date Pudding with warm Butterscotch sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on the side!!”
I don’t know what that is, but it sounds unbearably GOOD!!!
Cheesecake! Any kind! Also, don’t know if this qualifies as dessert, but I also love the Girl Scout Thin mint cookies.
Pepperidge Farm has been partnering with Arnott’s for the past couple of years and has been selling Tim Tams – made in Australia, of course – from October through March of every year. They were only available at Target, but I hear Cost Plus World Market might have it. 4 more months till Tim Tams!
I personally love cheesecake and anything made from lemons. Very fond of a good lemon tart. Re tim tams – I find them to be too sickly. They did have universal appeal tho’ as I used to buy them by the bucket loads when I was heading overseas for work. All of the agents I worked with and people at the Australian consulates around Asia love Tim Tams. They couldn’t get enough.
Fried ice cream with caramel sauce
Chocolate lava cake, moist ,dark, melting chocolate goodness with all the richness of dark chocolate and the nice crunch of the crusty chocolate top with .. no, no, not with anything at all… just perfect, by itself….
CHOCOLATE!
oops! not quite under the line for the AU midnight deadline.. I guess I’ll just have to go to teh land of tim tam myself then !
Better luck next time, Val! I may be able to sneak a box in my luggage for you next time I’m headed your direction.
